The Necessity and Implications of the Resurrection

1 Corinthians 15:12-34

15
Chapter 15
12 But if Christ is proclaimed as having been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. 14 But if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is empty, and your faith is empty also. 15 We are found also to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that he raised the Christ, whom he did not raise—if indeed the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 But if Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins. 18 Therefore those who fell asleep in Christ have also perished. 19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are more pitiable than all people. 20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a human, resurrection of the dead also comes through a human. 22 For just as all die in Adam, so also all will be made alive in Christ. 23 but each in his own order: Christ the Firstfruits, then those of Christ at his Parousia; 24 then the end, when he hands over the kingdom to God and the Father, when he has rendered powerless every rule and every authority and power, 25 For he must reign until he puts all the enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy is rendered powerless—death. 27 For he subjected all things under his feet. But when he says that all things have been subjected, it is evident that this is except the one who subjected all things to him. 28 But when all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the one who subjected all things to him, so that God may be all things in all. 29 Otherwise, what will those being baptized for the dead do? If the dead are not at all raised, why also are they baptized for them? 30 Why are we also risking our lives every hour? 31 I die daily. No, by your boasting in which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord. 32 If, according to man, I fought with beasts in Ephesus, what does it benefit me? If the dead do not rise, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. 33 Do not be led astray; bad associations corrupt good morals. 34 Sober up righteously and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
